Pixel is the smallest dragon<p>Experiment: If I partially fill my humidifier, leave it running all night, with my doors closed, how does the CO2 and humidity respond?</p><p>CO2: increases to around 1000 around midnight, as expected. Though, it continues to levels higher than past experiments, peaking at 1550 ppm. The rate of increase starts to decrease around where the water presumably runs out of the humidifier. It seemed to taper off around where the water began to run out in the humidifier. </p><p>Humidity: increases to around 50% as expected. Humidity begins to disperse when the water runs out. The humidifier has a fan on it. Unsure if leaving the fan on with no water is helping or harming. The humidifier usually uses a full tank if I leave it on it's lowest setting all night, so I knew that partially filling it meant that it would run out. </p><p><a href="https://post.lurk.org/tags/humidity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>humidity</span></a> <a href="https://post.lurk.org/tags/airGradient" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>airGradient</span></a> <a href="https://post.lurk.org/tags/airQuality" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>airQuality</span></a> <a href="https://post.lurk.org/tags/openSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openSource</span></a> <a href="https://post.lurk.org/tags/openHardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openHardware</span></a></p>

Eventually, I had to open windows.</p><p>Day 4's Night CO2 Experiment: If I turn the apartment ventilation on from 12-8 am in an enclosed room when the CO2 usually reaches 900 PPM + levels, does it reduce the CO2 compared to the room without ventilation?<br>A: Only a little, turning on the ventilation lowered the CO2 from 1.4k PPM to 1.2k PPM, but it is still above 1000 PPM. I could try to run the ventilation starting 10 pm and see if it improves?</p><p>Side note: CO2 drops when I'm not in my apartment, I'm not interested in controlling for this.<br>The CO2 drops faster with the vent on while the window is open rather than the window alone, I'm not sure about the humidity costs. </p><p><a href="https://post.lurk.org/tags/humidity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>humidity</span></a> <a href="https://post.lurk.org/tags/airGradient" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>airGradient</span></a> <a href="https://post.lurk.org/tags/airQuality" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>airQuality</span></a> <a href="https://post.lurk.org/tags/openSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openSource</span></a> <a href="https://post.lurk.org/tags/openHardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openHardware</span></a></p>
