A small part of another landscape

Now this is what we call a #Moonsie. When we started @KronoMoonPhotos, we expected lots of #portraits that would include one's #self &/or one's #pet with the #Moon in the same frame — what we call a #Moonsie. After boosting and retooting hundreds of #MoonPhotos it's been rare to see an example as bold as this one of a wide-eyed #orange #cat in a #tree (a #treehouse?) illuminated by a bright #fullMoon shining overhead. Let's all share more #Moonsies in 2025!

Ask Michael + Maik for help building the #treehouse. Not everyone deals well with not being primed before answering :) I thought I'd post some little snippets from withing the game, since text-based games can't score with cool videos and VFX. These are two of the NPCs you can ask for help with your project.

The Wilkinson House by Robert Oshatz, completed in 2004, is an example of modern architecture at peace with its site. The house occupies a wooded Pacific Northwest site, with a fast sloping grade that allows the main level of the house to sit amongst the tree canopy. Walls made of glass let abundant natural lighting through into the interior spaces and provide views to the surrounding canopy.

An Antidote to Apathy

Learning how to climb a tree as a form of protest feels massively self-effective. Suddenly, you are no longer simply part of a protest that comes and goes and is mostly ignored by those in power. Instead, you present an obstruction to them, a disruption which they actively need to deal with. To me, self-efficacy constitutes a great source of motivation to concern myself with political topics. In that sense, civil disobedience presents an antidote to political apathy and therefore a valuable tool of a healthy democracy. Nevertheless, it often comes with a cost, although this time I’ll be lucky to be spared by chance, so I can’t tell from personal experience.
