Wrote a small post about #reaper's amazing convolution reverb possibilities and the creative (mis)use thereof...: https://roosnaflak.com/tech-and-research/reaper-convolution-reverb/
#Hegseth - Another US MQ-9 #Reaper drone was shot down by the #Houthis in #Yemen on Tuesday. This is the 7th MQ-9 Reaper drone shot down by the Houthis since March 3rd. It is the 6th US MQ-9 drone shot down over Yemen since US Central Command began daily airstrikes on the Houthis on March 15th. Today marks Day 40 of US daily air strikes against the Houthis, and yet the Houthis continue to fire missiles to shoot these expensive US assets down. Each MQ-9 drone costs about $30 million a piece.”
#Ardour vs. #Reaper update: The latter is gaining ground, mainly because the former has the same problem as many FOSS apps: Being built for features rather than designed for processes.
Dunno if this is because asking people to pay means you have to consider ease of use more than if you're giving away a passion project, but I'm basically the poster boy for the "Not going to live with UX I know could be better out of altruistic principles" demographic

Solution: I was running #reaper as a portable install in a #toolbox from #Fedora 41 #Silverblue, so I recreated the toolbox using #Fedora42 image.
Any #music people have #midi issues with #fedora #silverblue 42? Looks like it may have something to do with #wireplumber config files, maybe? #Reaper seems unable to see midi-bridge that I can see is there in qpwgraph.
What's new in #REAPER 7.36 - Poly Aftertouch editing, Big Clock Plus, $rectag and more...
Made myself a tiny little package to control the best #daw in the world #reaper with the finest programming language available #commonlisp :-D
Y'all, these free clones of classic plugins are fantastic. There's a Phoenix, an Inflator, an L2 and more, all in JSFX format. I had to do a little write-up about 'em.

Sooo, apparently Vlad G of TDR fame has made some clones of popular plugins (such as Crane Song Phoenix and McDSP Analog Channel) in JSFX format! What a time to be alive.
I'm trying to figure out the simplest way to record #Reaper sessions and voice over with #OBS. I had a workflow on macOS, but I need a different solution for #linux.
You'd think it'd be easier with JACK and whatnot, but I was pulling my hair out last night.
If you've got any tips, I'd love to hear 'em!
I got to play with a bottle of Turbo Dork color-shifting paint. Seemed like a good chance for Sarah Blitzer, IMEF Marine from Reaper’s Chronoscope line to show off her gear.
Pour les curieux de la mao sous linux, c'est mixé sur #librazik. J'ai détaillé la démarche sur linuxmao.org :

Finally took the time to set up some trusty Windows audio plugins in Linux today, courtesy wine + yabridge. Now I've got Sonible, Arturia, and FabFilter plugins in my Debian 12 system! What more could you ask for, seriously?
MMEA y'all (make mixing easy again)
(Okay, you could ask for UAD and Soundtoys, but then you'd just be greedy.)

The BEST #REAPER Edit Tool?! – How I Use Razor Edits
I'd love to discover a way to record a piece of music that starts without click and then continues to a click in the middle of it. An external metronome could be triggered by foot pedal, for instance. But could it be done all within the DAW? Has someone devised a #Reaper script for such a thing?
I recently discovered a meter/scope for #reaper that displays the transfer curve of a saturation effect! My dreams are a reality! It's fascinating to flip through my different saturation plugins and gain deeper insight into what they're doing. I'm curious if I can approximate my paid plugins with free/stock options.
