Calling all #psych researchers!
We’re conducting a quick survey on #preregistration and would love your input on what features an ideal preregistration platform should have. We will use your feedback to improve our preregistration platform "Preregistration in Psychology."
We’d greatly appreciate your participation!
17 eligible case studies were submitted for our #OpenResearch Award 2024. All eligible case studies will be highlighted here. Today:

From @balazsaczel: Don't let the value of confirmatory studies (to test #preregistered hypotheses) eclipse the need for exploratory studies (to develop the hypothesis needed for #preregistration).

Workshop: Introduction to Open Science and Pre-Registration - 12 December 2024
UM is on a mission to become a leading example of the Open Science movement, which aims to make research, including papers, data, methods, etc., open to anyone so we can all benefit.

Do you know your #HorizonEU requirements? (7/11) TRUE or FALSE - "In the grant proposal, not addressing the other recommended #OpenScience practices (e.g. #CitizenScience, #preregistration) will have a negative impact on your score" ??

#openscience question: Does anyone have a good example of a #preregistration for exploratory research? I am specifically looking for one based on estimation instead of hypothesis testing (e.g., no power analysis).
This story was even stranger than I first assumed.
Prominent open-science proponents co-authored a preregistered study that appeared to indicated that #preregistration (and other #OpenScience practices) lead to #ReproducibleResearch. After substantial discussion, the paper was just retracted.
The issue is summarized by Andrew Gelman @statmodeling_bot here:

Research integrity irony:
"A high-profile paper about ways to improve the rigor of research papers has been retracted after critics attacked its own rigor."
