#bicycles #travel free of costs in regional #trains in the federal state of #Hesse. Lower Saxony offers a monthly #biketicket, valid one month from the day you buy it. Get one if you plan to use it on 5+ days. The fun part: Ticket machines inside the #Cantus #Regionalbahn trains don't sell it on the territory of Hesse - if your destination is in #LowerSaxony you have to wait for the first stop there to be able to buy it. @mastobikes_de @bahnkundenv @fedibikes_de @fedibikes

#ClimateDiary first half of 2024, Germany, #LowerSaxony, not too far from Hanover:
This year began as 2023 ended - with massive flooding in our area. By the end of January, however, most of the water had drained away, with only a few low-lying patches and patches with compacted soil remaining flooded until spring.
The winter was again warmer than average, often with daytime temperatures between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius and occasional night frosts.
