Unfortunately my experience with fitting of already "standard" 60% PCBs with "standard" 60% cases (especially wooden ones in combination with SA profile keycaps) is anything but good.

After 6 months of using it, I finally made the tutorial on how to compile and install a #Vial compatible #qmk firmware on the #keebio iris rev8 ergonomic mechanical keyboard, using Arch Linux.

I also show how to tweak the source code for the firmware to get 8 layers instead of the default 4! (the Raspberry Pi controller can take it)

#FreeSoftware is great, as you have the right to modify the code for it to do exactly what you need it for!

I have been waiting for this piece of hardware to be available in the store for quite a while, and then waited a long time for the keycaps to get through customs, but now I have it, assembled in its full glory!

I'll "only" have to figure out how to take full advantage of the RP2040 chip, so I can have the best experience!

I'm trying to get my #KeebIo Iris rev. 8 configured on #ArchLinux, so I downloaded the #Vial appimage from GitHub, and created an udev rule in accordance with their guide. Unfortunately, it does not work.

I also got the #Via appimage, which works, it prompted me for a root password and created an udev rule.

Is there a reason for that? Is it just a fact that Vial support less keyboard types than Via?

Funemployment project #1 published! It's a #3dprint display case for my old #mechanicalkeyboard, the #keebio Iris, in #OpenSCAD.

I haven't finished printing yet, but I will undoubtedly toot about that too when it happens.

Speaking about #mechanicalkeyboard, I was reading and studying the #Keebio #Iris as a possible first split buy.
But then, thanks to @rriver I've found out the nice Yushakobo store in Japan that is the reference store for the Lily98.
Then I've found out that Lily98 is #FOSS and that has been designed by a Japanese.
My wife is Japanese.
Next summer will be back in Japan after three years.
Well, I think it's worth a stroll to the Yushakobo store.
