I also founded a small instance mastodonsocial.ru 8 years ago, which has, with help from @mo, @ZySoua, @inex, @Chia, @frssoft, @sarahquartz, @th3rdsergeevich and even @SiberiaBread (and let me know if I forgot to mention anybody) become a little known server called mastodon.ml. Thank you all. Even if some of you are patent assholes.

I also like talking and raving and ranting into microphones and I want the ru-fedi community to be cohesive, so I (along with @pastecat, @blue and @Kill2BlooD, can't forget u, ppl) created the Regular Expressions bi-weekly podcast. Thanks, @th3rdsergeevich for hosting it and everybody who has ever participated or gave it a listen.

Both projects have since taken on the life on their own, and I stepped down from being in charge for both of them. Which has always been the plan, by the way, so don't be sorry, they are fine, no regrets.

There are other crazy things in the pipeline. So... Let's be friends! Who knows what we'll do.

Ohai! I believe, I never got any formal #introduction on this platform.

I'm drq. I'm coming in peace from Moscow, Russia. I'm male, bi, in my mid 30s, I've been doing the Fediverse stuff for at least 8 years now. Promoting it, giving lectures and seminars about it, in my home land (albeit, carefully), making content for it, managing and moderating communities. It's my life's work.

I love movies, so I host @fmn with help from @frssoft and, earlier, @Chia. I want Russian-speaking Fediverse community to be connected and strong, so I made @rf and adorned it with copious amounts of klukva - which is ironic fake-Soviet-Russian imagery (thank you, Fade for rewriting the underlying code, wherever you are now. it's up for grabs at inex.dev/localhost_frssoft/mas if you want to do smth similar). I want to support Fediverse's venue into multimedia, so I host xxivproduction.video (thx @vae and @Kill2BlooD for help, and @blue for the ongoing support).

Just wanted to do a quick introduction post!

I am a Finnish nerd and a forever GM who enjoys various TTRPG's (PF2e, CoC, Blade Runner, VtM5e and many, many others), books, music, video games, board games, Linux, FOSS and other stuff I have probably forgotten to write about here.

I also have three cats that keep me company while I'm working at home as a software developer or help me write new code when I'm getting a cup of coffee.

This is our #introduction / #introductions

We are the Institute for Degrowth Studies, based in #Malmö #Sweden. We are an association (“ideell förening”) founded with the aim of spreading knowledge about #degrowth, creating and/or supporting activities aligned with degrowth, providing opportunities for our members to learn more about degrowth, and fostering collaboration both locally and internationally with other degrowth groups and organizations that share similar values.

After organizing the 6th International Degrowth Conference we have arranged study circles and study visits, lectures, workshops, film screenings, and projects. We have also collaborated with other civil-society organisations for public events and activities.

As part of prefiguring the world we want to see, we are now happy to also have a presence on the #fediverse. We will post updates of related events in the area and share other relevant materials!

Vår målsättning är att sprida kunskap om #degrowth, skapa och stötta evenemang och aktiviteter enliga med degrowth, erbjuda tillfällen för våra medlemmar att lära sig mer om ämnet, och främja samarbetet mellan organisationer och grupper som delar degrowths värderingar.

Efter att vi samordnade den 6e Internationella Degrowth Konferensen, har vi arrangerat studiecirklar, studiebesök, föredrag, workshops, filmvisningar och arbetat på projekt. Vi har också samarbetat med andra samhällsorganisationer för allmänna evenemang och aktiviteter.

I strävan om att skapa den värld vi vill se är vi nu glada att visa vår närvaro på #fediverse. Vi kommer lägga upp evenemang och aktiviteter i området och dela annan relevant information!

Hello. I’m a woman in her forties, recently unmoored by divorce and rather reacquainting myself with solitude. I’ve always had a soft spot for the music of the 1980s—something about the melancholy beneath the synth—and I find great comfort in books, particularly those on science and history. There’s something reassuring about facts when life feels so uncertain.

I live alone by the sea, somewhere quietly charming in England, and I work—dutifully, if somewhat wearily—for the civil service. My views lean gently to the left, though I find the current state of discourse rather exhausting.

I’m here simply in search of meaningful conversation. I’ve no interest in unsolicited vulgarity. So yes, just a woman trying to navigate her newfound freedom, perhaps, a flicker of hope for friendship?
