I understand the purpose of projects like #KDENeon and #GnomeOS and that people are proud of them but we have to place those less prominent or not at all on the websites and add a lot more prominent warnings! I made the mistake of installing one of them when I was new to #Linux and I still see people doing so! Coming from Windows everything is so split up and confusing already so that "offficial" offering just seems far too good to ignore and the way I see it it's on #Gnome and #KDE to solve!

@janvhs are you talking only about the installation experience, or also the general experience of the distribution? Honestly I have never tried any *BSD, but afaik it doesn't have #systemd, which sounds very inconvenient.
In general installation of #linux distros is often a nightmare especially for beginners. The installer of #gnomeos is so much better, but also nowhere else used yet. (And also it needs some more work I think, but the UX is great)
