All filled back in and raked to slope away from the house for now.
Need to fetch the German lottery machine and buy a bunch of stuff, like a dumptruck full of sand/aggregate to continue on the foundation repair.
Odpaliłem pod Linuksem demo gry Foundation (bardzo chillowy city builder, tyle że ze średniowieczną wioską). Działa bardzo fajnie, nawet na moim niezbyt mocnym sprzęcie, ale wyłącznie na Xorg, a pod Wayland co jakiś czas się wykrzacza z graficznymi babolami, zdarzyło się też całkowite zamrożenie.
Szukanie jakiegoś rozwiązania nie jest łatwe, bo internet jest pełny narzekania na działanie wielu rzeczy na kombo Wayland+Nvida. Wygląda na to, że żeby móc sobie pograć, musiałbym przełączać sesje, albo całkiem powrócić do Xorg :(
Szkoda, bo gra jest naprawdę bardzo przyjemna.
#Swing #Cocoa: It isn't suprising when you look into it. For #WebObjects #Apple not only reimplemented #Foundation in #Java (com.webobjects.foundation), they also made a #Cocoa abstraction layer that mimics layout and behaviour in #Swing (com.webobjects.eointerface.swing).
That one still works (https://fosstodon.org/@lazarus/114252747377471833), while the bridge to Cocoa has been deprecated with WebObjects 5.4 (and thus is not part of its docs anymore).

DST change reminded me of that time QA discovered that, if you build a date from NSDateComponents, any missing items will not be set to zero, but will be set to the corresponding value from the current date and time.
Which meant that my March 30th, 12:00 would get random one-minute-drift like 12:00:59 because the user entered the date right before a minute change.
Makes sense for the date, but was a bit bewildering for the time, especially seconds.

just started reading the #Foundation series of books as i have loved the tv show. almost finished with the first book and have really enjoyed it, but boy HOWDY is it different from the show.
fwiw that’s not at all a complaint. imo it’s nice to have multiple tellings of a storyline, particularly across different mediums.

Completed another book yesterday, the first #foundation novel by Isaac #Asimov
Read it within two days, that's really fast tbh. However, I don't own the other six books yet and I'm unsure if I should switch from the paperback to the ebook version, as some of the ebooks are really cheap (2,90€, 4,99€ etc.)
On the other hand, I've so many other books to read.
