Join me on a trip into and then up the Welsh mountains of Eryri!
Yesterday afternoon. 3200 feet up. I was in a t-shirt and shorts.
Today, it's 4 degrees Celsius, windchill minus 4!
This photo I took when descending Yr Wyddfa in 2023 has popped up as my iPad wallpaper… I don’t think I’ve ever really studied it before. The lake, the coastline, the rain… Love it.

Nice little walk this morning with Mel taking a swim and me a small "up to my knees" paddle. Llyn Mwmbyr looking stunning this morning. #NWales #Mosstodon #Dogsofmastodon #Eryri

@wessexweather Also saw 18'C here in #Eryri. Stiff winds at times off the hills in a NE wind, but that also brought some Foehn effect benefit.
Great day!
132-mile loop around north Wales today. Up to 18 degrees Celsius, though on a few occasions, some pretty nasty winds off the hills.
...cheered by the bright clear spring morning
close up, the grass is tender & buds are swelling
is there a hint of summer in the air?

There's a mountain peak in Eryri known as 'Pen Llithrig y Wrach' (Slipper Head of the Witch).
Nobody knows why this name was given. But today, it happened to have lightly snowed again, revealing a recumbent witch and her elongated, slippery head!

Hydro pipeline from Llyn Cowlyd, north Wales.
Feels very spring-like now. Thank God I didn't take the 1000cc motorbike up here; makes Hardknott Pass look easy; multiple immediate, steep hairpins from sea level to 1000' up - with ice!
There's a lovely, very recently-released song about Cwm Cowlyd, here: https://youtu.be/i67yIyoSzBY?si=td2bErSiDl245UHk

#introduction
I’m Ruth - living in #Machynlleth, Wales. I love #singing (I lead a choir here), #hiking and getting to know the beautiful area of #eryri, where I live. I’m learning #cymraeg. I also help to run #machspace, our local #Makerspace. I enjoy #arts and #crafts, especially #collage, #zine making, #sewing, #knitting and #crochet and am also getting into #watercolour. Am hoping to soon become a #cat owner once I find a place I can live with a pet and do some #vegetableGardening.
