Morna Finnegan asks how women's 'bodies in motion' create and maintain egalitarian gender relations among the BaYaka hunter-gatherers of the Congo forest.
Morna is a leading scholar of gender and sexual egalitarianism among African hunter-gatherers. She focuses on ritual and political domains structured through BaYaka women's dance collectives. Her articles include 'The Politics of Eros' (2013) and 'Dance, play, laugh: What capitalism can't do' (2015), and she is co-editor of 'Human Origins, contributions from social anthropology' (Berghahn 2017)
