I just think #TheEconomist is #discrediting itself by #platforming #MAGA #bullshit that even 5th graders can callout as #Kindergarten-esque #mobbing.

It's pretty much absurd to do so without seriously interrogating whether the #Trump regime actually knows the shit it does or whether this is just a #dismantling operation by #AgentKrasnov to enshure #Putin gets what he wants.

Tho in the meantime it only resulted in the #EU coming closer together and #Europe finding resolve against #Russia, with both #NATO and EU becoming stronger than before...

  • Granted the #USA already lost it's credibility in 2012 when Putin invaded #Crimea and the #BudapestMemorandum was violated #consequences-free instead of #BootsOnTheGround by the #US, #UK and #France and the current support for #Kyiv is the absolute bare minimum to avoid the political suicide that are flagged coffins returning home since in #Europe - unlike the USA - going to war isn't guaranteed to get elected, but rather will tank ratings (as it should be)!

Again: #REFORUSA is an act of self- and mutual defense at this point!

I can’t get over the cognitive dissonance of spending 12 hours of intense work in clinic, using every minute of my 25 years of training and experience to formulate treatment plans for my patients with #cancer, and then to come home and check the news and to read about every part of the infrastructure needed to attain the knowledge for these treatment plans bring intentionally dismantled

spawning from that....

It has led to so many threads becoming unravelled. The purpose I feel of queering if there is any is as a mechanism of #dismantling and #regenerative possibility. From this can come a reimagining of environments, understandings, feeling, thought...and practice. To #denormalise a perspective, there must be space to provide alternative systems, and #regenerative systems themselves rely on reimagination.

Even this reimagination must be "queered". It cannot be something

I wonder how many citizens of the USA have yet been awoken from their sleepwalking while cheering and voting for Donald Trump to be elected as the next President. 🤔

Take your wildest imaginations/dreams and multiply that by 10 and you probably have a rough idea of what can come out if Trump has full access to the entire system with all it's data of the US. 🙄

Did any #boomer believe, until now, that #FBI #CIA would B targets of #DOJ #WhiteHouse? #MAGA is in process of #dismantling #democracy, but #fightback: "Government will not disseminate the list at issue in these consolidated cases (and any subsequent versions of that list, including any record pairing the unique identifiers on the list to names) to the public, directly or indirectly, before the Court rules on Plaintiffs’ anticipated motions for a preliminary injunction storage.courtlistener.com/reca

“…details vary by context, but poli scientist Elizabeth David-Barrett lays out 3 general mechanisms of #StateCapture. They now sound familiar:shaping the rules of the game thru #law & #policy; #influencing admin decisions by capturing the #budget, appts, govt #contracts & #regulatory decisions;& #disabling checks on #power by #dismantling #accountability structures like the #judiciary, law enforcement & prosecution, & audit institutions like #IGs & #media.”

#Crimethinc: From #Inclusion to #Resistance - Neither Trump’s Trans Ban nor Assimilation, but Total Liberation

2017-07-27

[Excerpt]: "What’s radical about trans students contesting bathroom and gender assignment is the possibilities this opens for all students to contest #authority. If we don’t accept their rules regarding which toilets to use, why should we accept the legitimacy of the system that functions as a school-to-prison pipeline? While we support anything that can reduce the misery of trans kids, we also recognize that trans-inclusive bathroom policies are a safety valve intended to divert student resistance and to bolster the legitimacy of a failing public school system. As with marriage and the military, trans liberation in schools isn’t just a question of easing our inclusion into them. It would demand something more like #dismantling them altogether.

"It’s strategic for defenders of the status quo to re-center the #LGBT rights debate around trans people in the military at this moment. As #transgender, #genderqueer, and #NonBinary communities are appearing in mass media and popular consciousness in unprecedented numbers, an optimist might speculate that US gender relations could come up for renegotiation—along with all the institutions they undergird. What better way to protect those relations and institutions than by reducing the scope of the discussion to the most reactionary formulation possible: integration into the military?

"It’s better for both liberals and conservatives that we stop talking about radically #reconfiguring #HealthCare, #sexuality, #education, the #economy, and numerous other social institutions shot through with #patriarchal norms."

CrimethInc.From Inclusion to Resistance Do we really want to legitimize the US military in return for inclusion in its ranks? How does this question sit in the decades-long history of LGBT struggles? And why is it coming up again today?

Excerpts from "From Taming to #Dismantling: #Degrowth and #AntiCapitalist Strategy" by Ekaterina Chertkovskaya, September 2020.

#SmallScaleRuptures

"As for ruptural transformation, this is not part of Wright’s vision of how to overcome capitalism. So far it has not featured in the work on degrowth either, which has largely followed Wright’s reasoning. A survey of the degrowth movement conducted at the fourth international degrowth conference in Leipzig (2014) found out that about 13% of degrowthers were oriented towards rupture. While this might be a minority position in the movement and while ruptures are to be cautious about, I would not fully dismiss rupture as a logic of transformation (and smashing capitalism, as its strategic logic). When speaking of ruptural transformation, Wright usually refers to it as a complete overhaul of the capitalist system, and as a direct attack on the state. However, rupture does not have to be understood this way, which Wright acknowledged also.

"There can be temporary or smaller scale ruptures and examples of smashing capitalism. Say, an act of #disobedience like blocking a coal plant or occupying a public space – something that is part of the degrowth imaginary – can be seen as an example of a #TemporaryRupture that #empowers and encourages other forms of #resistance. It includes, but also goes beyond resistance, by disrupting, even if temporarily, the rhythm of #ExtractiveCapitalism. Workers overtaking a bankrupt factory and making it a cooperative is another example of rupture and smashing capitalism, in a concrete organisation, such as #VioMe in Greece, #RiMaflow in Italy and the occupied factories in #Argentina. Had they been waiting for the legislation that would allow dismantling capitalism to come into place and support cooperative organisational forms, such pioneering examples of change would probably not exist. However, responding to the crises the way they did created a rupture that may encourage others to do the same, as well as demand policies that would allow cooperativisation. Thus, I would argue that temporary or smaller scale ruptures can be important, supporting interstitial and symbiotic logics of transformation."

2/2 The second, by Nesrine Malik, gives a very insightful and powerful account of the #Dismantling of the #WelfareState and #PublicServices as well as #HostileEnvironment policies - and the realisation that if she arrived now, she probably would not make it the way she did. Both pointing out just how much real, visionary change we need, and how sadly that is not really coming from Keir Starmer and #Labour

On #recovering from colonialism this Mother's Day...

it's not cool that Turtle Island got... how shall we say this... polluted with colonists' Euro-centric places named after British royalty and queens. The settlers' ideas about the "greatness" of a pioneer heritage is pretty messed up.

You know who asks for all those English town names? In the US, it's called The "National Association of Realtors", (monarchy) and all of its hideous churches (patriarchal oligarchy).

Turtle Island has never needed either one; it will always be better off without both.

Europeans brought toxic industrialization, rents, exploitation, greed, and disease along with their churches and overwrought promises. Their sickness spread many places, as expected, binding to the colonists' continued refusal to acknowledge the indigenous landkeepers as humans. Stop using the word "steward".

Colonists desecrated and destroyed sacred sites with bulldozers and printed phony books about how great they were, teaching their children to believe many delusions.

What have you done in your life to change that? What are you doing today?

Sometimes when #dismantling an infrastructure, it needs to have all the rot and stupidity removed literally.

Epegwit'g does not honor or sustain the monarchies of Europe; it is not called "Prince Edward Island", nor does it have need for a settler state named "Charlottesville". It does not have neighbors known as "New Brunswick" or "Nova Scotia", and it most definitely never wanted or needed Unma'gi named anything else.

There really is no word for "Saint" in Algonquin languages, so that route won't get you anywhere.

Demanding #justice for crimes committed 500+ years ago: turn off all the colonists trying to further their economic agendas, and see the invasion on the pre-Columbian settlements and residents, whose #MMIW are the real story just about everywhere.
