Friendly #DEFCON reminder: the deadline for the #defcon33 Call for Papers, Call for Workshops and Call for Demo Labs is now less than a month away! Get your submissions in ahead of the mad rush at the May 1 deadline for maximum attention. We can’t wait to see what you’re working on!

Can someone share any number about how Black Hat (and DEF CON) negotiates the instructor's share for Trainings? On the website:

blackhat.com/call-for-training

Is written:

"Payment is negotiated directly with each individual Trainer."

So, say that I propose a course for 1000 USD / student and I get 20 students registered and paying. What share of those 20'000 USD does BH/DC offer me usually?

The #DEFCON #MeshTastic MQTT server is in early testing. Soon we will open it up for beta testing and will be asking for people to help, then we will do our full reveal of our plans!

A lot of great community support and organizing in the background we will talk about when ready.

This week’s #defconmovienight selection is Scarface (1932). Classic pre-code gangster flick based loosely on Al Capone and directed by the great Howard Hawks. Join us at 8pm PDT Saturday in the movie-night-text channel of the #defcon discord (discord.gg/defcon). The world is yours.

So the DEFCON 32 badge can be repurposed into a hardware hacking multi-tool. I flashed the custom firmware FREE-WILi created for the badge. It is limited since I don’t have all available GPIO pins that the Raspberry Pico does but do have some, USB serial, and I2C control. It seems like a bus pirate variant maybe? Someone with actual hardware hacking experience can correct me on that.

@paulywill It originated from the hacker poetry magnets we made almost 25 years ago. It was kind of a moment when everyone had different refrigerator magnet sets and we did our own for #DEFCON.

The now infamous tee-shirt “I miss crime” came from playing with the magnets!

#defconmovienight wants you to join us Saturday at 8pm PDT for ‘The Big Lebowski’ - a film that asks the important questions, like “Who’s the [redacted] nihilist here?” We’ll be with the other urban achievers in the #defcon discord (discord.gg/defcon) in the movie-night-text channel. Marmots optional.
