ZAP BLAP Don't use adapters for your Tesla crap!
Looks like the issue was with the charging station not playing nice with the adapter and causing a massive arc-fault.
Doesn't look like the person was seriously injured, nor the car seriously damaged. But that would have been a bad day nonetheless.
edit: upon further investigation, it appears the Fort St location was erroneous. It appears to have been the On the Run station at the Chevron on the “Old Hope Princeton Hwy”.
This is also why there should be *one* standard DC high speed charging car plug. One. Only one. For everyone. (there are currently three)

arXiv.orgAttestable builds: compiling verifiable binaries on untrusted systems using trusted execution environmentsIn this paper we present attestable builds, a new paradigm to provide strong source-to-binary correspondence in software artifacts. We tackle the challenge of opaque build pipelines that disconnect the trust between source code, which can be understood and audited, and the final binary artifact, which is difficult to inspect. Our system uses modern trusted execution environments (TEEs) and sandboxed build containers to provide strong guarantees that a given artifact was correctly built from a specific source code snapshot. As such it complements existing approaches like reproducible builds which typically require time-intensive modifications to existing build configurations and dependencies, and require independent parties to continuously build and verify artifacts. In comparison, an attestable build requires only minimal changes to an existing project, and offers nearly instantaneous verification of the correspondence between a given binary and the source code and build pipeline used to construct it. We evaluate it by building open-source software libraries - focusing on projects which are important to the trust chain and those which have proven difficult to be built deterministically. Overall, the overhead (42 seconds start-up latency and 14% increase in build duration) is small in comparison to the overall build time. Importantly, our prototype builds even complex projects such as LLVM Clang without requiring any modifications to their source code and build scripts. Finally, we formally model and verify the attestable build design to demonstrate its security against well-resourced adversaries.

My childcare centre announced a couple of weeks ago that their casual rate was going to be increasing: a significant increase too, about 70% more than what I currently pay OOP after CCS. Of course I immediately went out and looked at other centres, to see if this rate hike was comparative to other centres. Turns out that the price increase was raising the price to a rate higher than many other centres. So even though they offered to grandfather our casual rate after I noted the increases was not conducive to us staying (ie no rate increase for us cos we special) even the not-increased rate is not competitive - the fees have slowly ratcheted up over the past few years, and so... we will definitely be jumping ship, and while I'm not really surprised, I'm a bit saddened at the #enshittification of this, like everything. Let them churn seems to be the mantra of pretty much every sector these days. It's easier tbh as my daughter has been complaining about childcare for a while: pretty much since she started sessional kinder at our small rural kinder with excellent ratio and fantastic outdoor area and bush kinder program.
Still, gotta love it: #fuck_around_and_find_out, bitches (they are actually pretty nice at my childcare, wouldn't have stayed if they weren't).

#Reiche will bei der #Energiewende „Verlässlichkeit, Versorgungssicherheit, Bezahlbarkeit und Kostentragfähigkeit des Energiesystems für unseren Wirtschaftsstandort ins Zentrum rücken.“
Und die „markt- und systemdienlich[e]“ Förderung erneuerbarer Energien heißt dann bei ihr: weniger Windenergie fördern, stattdessen mehr #Wasserstoff (teuer und das produziert keinen Strom, sondern lagert ihn) und irgendwann, bald, ganz bestimmt Carbon Capture and Storage #CCS (vermutlich noch teurer).

#Reiche möchte die sogenannte #CCS-Technologie zur Abscheidung und Einlagerung von #CO2 auch in der #Energieproduktion einsetzen. Sie wolle CCS »als Klimaschutztechnologie etablieren«.

Carbon Capture & Storage (#CCS), also das Auffangen von CO2 z.B. bei Verbrennung von Erdgas, ist aus vielen und lange bekannten Gründen keine Lösung, um fossile Brennstoffe klimafreundlich zu machen.
CCS kostet Energie. Erneuerbare Energien sollte man direkt nutzen statt für CCS. Holt man diese zusätzliche Energie für CCS von fossilen Energieträgern, stärkt das fossile Anbieter zusätzlich, es gibt mehr Luftverschmutzung und durch zusätzliche Gasförderung entweichen weitere gr. Mengen #Methan.
#Gaskraftwerke mit #CO2Speicherung sind eine ganz dumme Idee, sagt sogar die Industrie. Wäre viel zu unwirtschaftlich und es müsste eine ganz neue Infrastruktur für den CO2 Abtransport gebaut werden. Gibt es eigentlich noch vermeidbarere Emissionen als die von noch nicht gebaute Gaskraftwerke? Gegen den irrsinnigen Plan von #Reiche wird das #Mautdebakel von #Scheuer und die #Maskendeals von #Spahn wie ein Kindergeburtstag wirken.
