#ActualBudget with SimpleFin bridge integration has been working mostly fine for me... Except that

1) vanguard often doesn't sync successfully and needs re-auth
2) apple card sync never worked after syncing once......
3) the envelope budgeting just doesn't work for me. Like I front load my retirement accounts, so I don't have income for a few months, and Actual budget will just freak out because I'm over budgeting every month 😂😂😂

It's ok because I only have retirement accounts with vanguard so I'm not gonna look at it all the time and I have very few transactions on Apple Card at the moment...

Has the indiscriminate dishonorable discharge & other humilation of federal employees by #DOGE saved the american #taxpayer money?

Yes, some. Analysts say it amounts to something of a "rounding error" within the overall #budget. Government expenditure has been rising anyway in the same time, so it will be hard to notice at all.

But it has done SOMETHING. Every country in the world is sending its agents (online & offline) now to the #USA to exploit new vulenrabilities.

#LeftFootForward | Why austerity is a political choice not an economic necessity

"Progressive taxation, equitable distribution of income and wealth did not get any mention in the Chancellor’s statement. No steps have been taken to reduce billions of subsidies handed to banks, oil, gas, auto, steel, internet and other companies. A relentless squeeze of the less well-off won’t help with rejuvenation of the economy. "

No-one expected it to rain bitcoin, but budget week was a tech drought
By Ange Lavoipierre

Even though the tech sector had low expectations for this budget, there's something impressive about the fact that budget week still managed to genuinely surprise and worry even the most devoted realists in the tech economy.

ABC News · Nobody expected it to rain bitcoin, but the federal budget had a big tech-shaped holeBy Ange Lavoipierre

"Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ speech, delivered on Wednesday 26th March, laid out a series of welfare cuts and a hefty boost to defence spending, but little in the way of support for local authorities."

"London boroughs receive around 28% less funding per person compared to 2010."

Cartoon as social commentary; artist thought they were talking about the #budget, but really, its all about the Aussie lack of infrastructure and how funny, and typical, it is to drive over cyclists

Yeah, ok, I'm a bit sensitive today after two separate #cycling incidents yesterday; one road-rage and one hitting me through a give-way sign

Simple really is better, more times than not.

Yesterday I figured out how to track savings goals in Beancount (Fava) by creating a parallel BGT currency. It involves more data entry, but it does the calculation between what's already saved and my goal.

Nice, but unnecessary.

Today I scrapped all that (yay for backups!) and simply added the savings goal to the name of each account. Thanks for the tip on the forum, @simonmic
