_The Evening Post_, 17 March 1925:
WOMEN IN
PRINT.

#Wellington turned out in full force this morning to welcome the All Blacks, and members of the gentler sex paid their tribute to the travellers in enthusiastic fashion. It was not all hero worship, for in the players they recognised Imperial ambassadors who, in fulfilling the highest traditions of the game, had also helped to foster feeling between the Mother Country and her Dominion. #Women have a particular pride in their New Zealand, and while not all professing to understand the football game, they were keen to participate in to-day’s welcome to the conquering All Blacks, and this they did in no mild manner, assisting to give the lie to Wellington’s reputation of “inarticulateness” in public welcomes and special occasions.

_The Evening Post_, 13 February 1925:
               THE ALL BLACKS
      NEW ZEALAND PUBLIC MISLED
Towards the close of the tour of the New Zealand #Rugby team in #England, the “Daily Mail” published a message from a … Christchurch… correspondent… that [NZ] newspapers… strongly resented… the “spiteful” English criticism of the All Blacks and deprecated the “cold receptions” given by the public to the players on several grounds in England.… Mr. S. S. Dean, manager of the New Zealand team, … [stated]:—
“Our experience has been that the players in the various teams opposed to us have accepted their defeat in the best of spirit, and the best of good fellowship exists between them and ourselves. Many staunch and close friendships have been established.”
The correspondent of the “Daily Mail” who attended the principal matches … stated:—“Those of us who have followed the unbeaten All Blacks… can only be astonished at the statements… from Christchurch. In the north, in the west, in the big Welsh towns, and in London they have always been received with the greatest warmth. Every try or goal that they have scored has been greeted with cheer upon cheer. Off the field the players have been feted everywhere…."

After doing a deal with the dark side, the All Blacks are suffering blowback as their major sponsor, oil & gas giant Ineos, pulls out half way through a six year contract.

Oh dear. How sad.

Ineos is owned by Jim Ratcliffe, a UK billionaire domiciled in Monaco for tax reasons (i.e. he doesn't like paying his fair share). He was also a rabid Brexiteer.

NZ #Rugby Union are reportedly editing out on social media posts the start of #haka in #AllBlacks vs #Italy test also T J Perenara's last game for the ABs to keep racists from smashing their TVs or whatever device they're watching it on. What Perenara says is: "Toitū te mana o te whenua, toitū te mana motuhake, toitū te tiriti o Waitangi" "the sovereignty of the land remains, the sovereignty of the people remains, the #TreatyOfWaitangi #TeTiriti remains". #NZPol
