The Philadelphia Museum of Art got a rebrand and a shiny new website! Digging the accessibility toggles at the top. Seems like it was made with Nextjs and Tailwind. Looks like they implemented a dark theme with Tailwind, but it doesn't work for me (by setting my browser to prefer dark theme). The new griffin logo is cool, doesn't scream "Philadelphia Art Museum" to me but I don't think they even had a logo before so it's probably just due to a lack of familiarity. The logotype kind of looks like an upscale gastropub to me lol. I like the colors and typography they chose to make it more fun.

TetraLogicalGuide to the Inclusive Design Principles - TetraLogicalThe Inclusive Design Principles (IDP) were first published in 2016 by myself, Ian Pouncey, Léonie Watson, and Heydon Pickering. We felt that while the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) set out what to do to meet technical compliance, many design decisions fall outside the scope of WCAG but still determine whether an interface is inclusive, usable, and welcoming. The principles were developed to plug that gap with people-centred guidance that helps teams make better design decisions without adding unnecessary complexity. In this post, we'll look at who the principles are for, what they can be applied to, how they help people, and how you can integrate them into your own practices.

So any #WebDev #Webkit #WebDesign folks: I've been hacking #HTML (and later) #CSS for almost 30 years... why is webkit showing this white hairline around the edge of an element, between the box-shadow and the box background (which are supposed to be the same colour, but the shadow ends at RGB 12, 12, 12 whereas the box background is RGB 10, 10, 10). Graphics driver issue?

I'm really tempted to just #FuckThisImUsingTables as a cutup (remember those?) with baked-in alpha png backgrounds.
