@Crispius

This certainly explains why Poilievre keeps talking about their “common sense” policies — they’ll just be using and building on the damage Mike Harris did to Ontario. For example:

“Their manifesto was crystal clear: ‘We will not cut healthcare spending.’ But the result turned out to look very different: forty hospital closures, 25,000 staff laid off, and declining per capita real funding at a time of growing need.”

Another week, another great vent session about the Canadian election with Rachel Gilmore.

We take plenty of digs at Poilievre, talk about Carney’s scandals, explore what Trump meant for the campaign this week, and what issues we want to see the candidates get pressed on. Listen today!

It's amazing that #PierrePoilievre ("My middle name is 'lie'") hasn't sent a squad out to haul #DanielleSmith in. Every time she opens her mouth he can see his polls drop. She's going to guarantee that at the end of the day (and the election) he's only the Prime Minister of #Alberta. Her view of the annexation of Canada threats: "I think what you're seeing is some hurt feelings." Hurt feelings? I think that's pretty much the very definition of 'tone deaf'.

CBCANALYSIS | At Florida gala, Danielle Smith tried to laugh off 51st state rhetoric. Here's what she said | CBC NewsAt PragerU fundraiser, Alberta premier shied away from discussing Pierre Poilievre and Donald Trump, according to video CBC News obtained.

I think I'll create an account for posting #PierrePoilievre videos. People on the Fediverse ought to have the opportunity to hear what he actually says, and not just listen to what other people think he says.

I listened to a good one today, for instance, about his plans to reinforce Canadian unity, prosperity and independence from the US by promoting an East-West energy corridor.

#danielsmith the Canadian premier of Alberta, crosses the southern border to tell her fascist, imperialist friends in the US that The Lucky #PierrePoilievre , leader of the federal #CPC would be the pol they want to win the next federal election because he is,

"Very much in synch with the new direction in America"

Except the 'new direction in America' has #Canada ANNEXED.

Since she must know that, how can what she currently is doing and saying on the taxpayers' dime not be flat-out treason?

Listening to the podcast from #TheLineCa this morning, they've already hit two strong points:
* Why would Pres. Trump prefer #MarkCarney to #PierrePoilievre? Because heretics are hated more than infidels.
* What's the simplest explanation for why Pres. Trump treated Mr. Carney more respectfully over the phone than he treated PM Trudeau? Personal dislike for #JustinTrudeau, or at least pleasure in antagonising him.

Here are the three themes the #Conservatives need to play upon to win:

* #PierrePoilievre is pro-Canada/anti-Trump
* Canada is weak because of the #LostDecade of no per capita economic growth the Liberals delivered us
* #MarkCarney and #JustinTrudeau are linked (the #CPC should be delighted if they can get Mr. Carney to disavow his predecessor)

All those points are basically true, so they will sink in as the campaign proceeds. Will there be enough time though?

#Canada , the #CPC 's leader doesn't think much of you at all,

"I've already had a security clearance, because I was a cabinet minister; so I've already been cleared."

Except I'd wager the Lucky #PierrePoilievre knows as well as you or I that security clearances are not 'one and done'. So his clearance under completely different circumstances for utterly different reasons a DECADE AGO does not still stand, no matter how many times he lies those words to your faces.
