Disappointed for #lfc coming short against #psg. We played really well for most of the 90mins. Mac Allister a particular stand out for me. Quansah the best of the subs. We just didn’t convert our chances. And such a shit goal to give away. The second tangle between centre half and keeper in a week. Ref pissed me off.

Our press was much, much better, our belief in our ability on the ball was back. We put them under a lot of pressure but they’re a quality side. They’re very strong defensively. Vitinha was ridiculously good, even getting Trent injured because nobody could tackle him. Mendes had another impressive game vs a much improved Salah. I wouldn’t mind Liverpool signing him (Mendes) for next season…

Extra time we looked tired and went back to that frustratingly ineffective long ball game. Momentum, if such a thing exists, was with them for the penalty shoot out. Oh well. Can’t win them all.

An entertaining half. Salah seems a little too unselfish tonight - there we two or three times when I assumed he take a shot only for him pass it. Also, I think there has been to much emphasis on trying to pass it through the centre part of a crowded penalty area.

Well, what about that from #lfc tonight vs #psg? We were really bad for a lot of that first half, giving the ball away when we had chances to break the lines, only playing long balls which just kept coming back at us. Their lad, Mendes, got the better of Salah, whom we were relying on to hold up play and let us build a counter attack.

Yet, there were some stand out performances (apart from the obvious big man in yellow). Trent was excellent. Szoboslai and Mac Allister put in a proper shift. I thought Jota gave us an out ball for an hour and was keen on the press when others weren’t.

And second half, we managed to look more solid, played with more variety on the ball, forced them to shoot from distance. Once again, Slot made bold changes as he has done a lot this season. Taking off Grav and Salah was brave but correct, as they both had off nights. Jones was playing left back for quite a lot of the second half. Nuñez had obviously not been his favourite player in recent times, but he went with him and he did more for that goal than Eliot if you can measure such things.

Delighted with the result. I hope we can play with a bit of control at anfield
