Just discovered the micro editor for #linuxmint. Huge improvement over nano! Works in terminal, pretty minimalist, lots of familiar key bindings. Woohoo. #linux

@birv2 I had a similar issue with an 8BitDo controller, also #LinuxMint. The solution was to edit /etc/bluetooth/input.conf and change ClassicBondedOnly from true to false, then restart the Bluetooth service. Rock solid ever since. Here's the link that set me on the right path.

Yep, nope, do NOT do what I did. Kinda having to start from scratch in #ElementaryOS now, but saved my content.

Also, ich hab vor etwa 1,5 Jahren auf #LinuxMint umgestellt. Bin nach wie vor sehr zufrieden.
Also bzgl. Deiner Umstellung:
- Backup Deiner Daten
- ev. überlegen noch einen Zwischenschritt
mit Dual-Boot einzulegen.
Dann kannst Du Dir noch das eine oder andere
rüberholen, was Du ev. vergessen hast.
(Lesezeichen, Daten, Web-Logins,...)
Aber ansonsten... tolle Entscheidung, wirst Du nicht bereuen!
I started using Linux back in January or February 2020, and my first distro was Elementary OS 5.1. It felt like the right choice from the start.
Since then, I've tried a bunch of other distros like Arch, Fedora, Alpine, Linux Mint, Manjaro, and Paldo. But in the end, I fell in love with Debian stable.
Arch and Fedora didn't really sit with me, but I might give Arch another shot someday. Out of all the ones I tried, my top picks are Debian, Elementary, Mint, Alpine, and Paldo.
Today, I run Elementary alongside Debian on my laptop, and Debian on both my desktops. I love what Elementary does, but for me, Debian is number one, and Elementary is a close second.
#DeApple -ing has switched for me from #LinuxMint to #ElementalOS.
Used #Aptik to move my stuff from one to the other. Imperfect, but complete success.

Linux Mint op een USB-stick gezet. Ik wil een bejaard (Intel-) MacBookje omsmurfen tot een Linux-Bookje. Hopelijk bevalt dat, maar eerst moet het nog even lukken.
Mijn nerdspieren zijn nogal uit training. Maar tzt (snel?) lijkt onafhankelijkheid van de grote Amerikaanse techreuzen noodzakelijk.
Apple fangirl sinds de jaren tachtig , dus doet ook pijn.

friends i recently installed weston in linux mint debian edition faye
i was trying to get waydroid to work but gave up after i was unable to get the weston waydroid window to connect to the internet
is it better to make a new clean installation of linux mint DE than to try and remove weston?
i have not noticed anything bad, but have read that installing new desktop environments can cause problems and weston installed wayland

@itsfoss Linux Mint - and not because of any deficiency on its part. LM is a really great X11 based distro. I wanted GNOME, and to sink my teeth into Wayland.
Are you worried about your content if you #DeApple ? Think you need to move that first, then dump the hardware?

Dump the hardware IMMEDIATELY. Keep your iCloud subscription and move the content as you find solutions.

Do any users of #GIMP on #Linux know how to install the in-development version of the Resynthesizer plugin, called the "resynthesizer3 branch"?
Despite being a Linux user, I've maybe "cloned, built and installed" two things since 2019...so I need instructions-for-dummies.
I'm just missing a couple of the healing functions from Resynthesizer as it was far better at it than I am doing it manually.

- Linux Mint: if you want stability and everything to run smoothly.
- Arch Linux: if you like to tweak something all the time.

Ich hätte am liebsten ein System ohne systemd, mit aktuellen Paketen, einigermassen schnell und einfach aufgesetzt, mit Festplattenverschlüsselung und mit einem stabilen Update Prozess.
