Mika<p>I've recommended <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/Linkding" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Linkding</a> the other day as a <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/Pocket" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Pocket</a> alternative. It was a one-to-one replacement on desktop... then I remembered that I used to save a bunch of links to Pocket from mobile too from time to time. In terms of browsing through your Linkding bookmarks, despite there being no mobile app (unlike Pocket), this was easy to do on <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/iOS" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#iOS</a> by installing your Linkding instance as PWA. You could also do this on <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/Android" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Android</a>, but only using <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/Chrome" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Chrome</a><span>.<br><br>But adding links to the Linkding instance on mobile! I thought surely this is one omission I will have to live with... then I saw there was an official guide by them on how to achieve this, even without an app, by using </span><a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/Apple" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Apple</a>'s super powerful Shortcuts and wow... it worked perfectly. From anywhere on my <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/iPhone" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#iPhone</a>, I can <i>summon</i> the iOS share sheet and on it there'll be an "Add to Linkding" option that'd do just that <i>automatically</i><span>. I'm genuinely shocked just how easy it is to essentially create a "context menu service" on an iPhone natively, without requiring being tech savvy. You could even export or share the Shortcut supplied by Linkding after you've configured the Linkding instance domain with your own.<br><br>There's a guide on achieving this on Android too, but the methods (they provided 2) are a lil different. One involves adding some </span><a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/Javascript" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Javascript</a> code to a bookmark of your Linkding instance (again, using only Chrome) - using this method however, seems a lil janky and not that helpful since you seem to only be able to add bookmarks to your Linkding instance from Chrome and not elsewhere, and to do so you'll have to manually type <code>bm</code> into the address bar :blobfoxcat:<span> The method I recommend is the second method on the documentation, which works a lot more like how it does on iOS, though you'll have to install a third-party app for it.<br><br></span>🔗 <a href="https://linkding.link/how-to" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://linkding.link/how-to</a><span><br><br>RE: </span><a href="https://sakurajima.social/notes/a4f8swspvb" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://sakurajima.social/notes/a4f8swspvb</a></p>

Hi #SelfHosted community. I've figured out a lot of my setup. I now have a new domain, laniesplace.us, just for #HomeServer stuff. It's set up through Porkbun with Dynu for #DDNS. I've now got #Traefik, #TailscaleVPN, #Linkding, #Forgejo, #Dokuwiki, Code-Server, #Portainer, #Netdata, #Watchtower, #Cockpit, #Pihole, #MiniFlux, #TheLounge, #Filebrowser, #UptimeKuma, and the #Homer dashboard service installed. I'm now trying to set up #Authelia so I can have single sign-on to my services. For some, it's working now, but I can't seem to get Linkding to work no matter what I do. This is on a #RaspberryPi 500 with 8 GB RAM and a 512 GB SD card, running #Stormux, which is based on #ArchlinuxARM. Can anyone help? I'll reply to this post with all my relevant config files in separate posts. What's happening is this: Linkding is supposed to be available at bookmarks.laniesplace.us. When I go there, I see a 401 unauthorized error and a link to sign into Authelia. Once I sign in, though, it redirects back to the page with the 401 error. I've been trying to figure this out for hours with no luck. Files will be in replies to this post.

I use #Linkding as my self-hosted bookmarks manager, because it offers a clean and no-frills interface to collect and manage bookmarks.

I don't like Linkwarden because of the cardview that feels like a ecommerce or product site all screaming for attention.
