TÆL is a powerviolence 3 piece from Oslo, Norway that is just two bass guitars and drums (no regular guitars). It makes for an excellent, sludgy, bottom end sound, and it's perfect for #GrindayFriday. TÆL's self titled LP from 2023 blasts through its 16 tracks in a frantic, unabashed frenzy.

For #GrindayFriday this week, an LP that just came out in 2019, but one that should probably already be considered a grind classic. Ichikawa, Japan's FAILED TREATMENT don't fuck around when it comes to the gross and depraved. Lots of that here. Guitars have a really great, truly grindy sound. Very riffy. Roaring, bellowed vocals. Love that in grind. And the DRUMS.

For this #GrindayFriday, something that came out just five years ago but should already be considered a classic. Seattle, Washington's CAUSTIC WOUND gave us this brutal, crushing riffy LP 'Death Posture' in 2020. They have a new one coming end of April-- they're a band to watch. Cropping the cover here, as it's a bit morbid, fair warning. Few songs are over or even reach two minutes long. I love albums that get to the point and don't give up til the end.

Something weird and wild for #GrindayFriday. Another one I don't know how I missed last year, 'Born in Hell' by Tokyo's FINAL EXIT is some of the most unhinged, bizarre stuff you'll hear and I'm here for it. 40 tracks of wails, ditties, screams, surf rock mixed with grind- some truly funny-sounding things that will probably make you laugh (I did). 
Guess they've been around since 1994? Noisecore? A true trip.

Rock Island, Illinois' goregrind outfit SLOP FOUNTAIN put out their first (and so far only) EP in 2021, entitled Sloppy Seconds, and here it is, in all its horrifying glory. A gross, wild one for this week's #GrindayFriday. Good Guys Go Grind is an underground extreme music magazine based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Last year in December they released 'Ritual Gore Worship' which is a compilation of SIXTY songs from grind bands all over the world. Some favorites like Pulmonary Fibrosis, Thanatopsis and Posthumous Regurgitation, and a TON of other stuff. Guarantee there's grind bands on here you haven't heard.

I'm counting Attack from the Tub's LP from last year, 'Meat Candy', for this week's #GrindayFriday even though it might also be brutal death (?) but I feel like there's still a fair amount of grind. Metal Archives has AftT as brutal death/goregrind. There's always some crossover. This record's pretty rad, another I almost missed from 2024. 16 tracks, 24 minutes. Gross cover. Good breakdowns (one notable one in 'Same Meat Different Bones'). Check it.
