Which is perfectly fine, when you have huge datacenters sponsored via ads!</p><p>Can Fedi balance this out by "expiring" posts, and how best to approach it? (This isn't about privacy, but about database size).</p><p>Friendica, Hubzilla have expiring feature. In Friendica it applies to all posts. A bit inflexible.</p>

Friendica, Hubzilla don't explore profiles by tag via searchbar, but they use profile tags in other ways.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.xyz/tags/Mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Mastodon</span></a> search shows only users who have tag-word in their display name or handle, + tagged posts.</p><p>But we like multiple things and don't put them all in a nickname. I may be interested in design but not post about it (yet).
