🕶️ Its user interface (v. 4.4, with a dark theme on my Linux PC) with godot-sokoban, a 3D Sokoban game available from its interface. Under Godot, numerous windows and parameters are displayed on both sides of the screen.

📚️ Godot Engine is a high-performance, libre (very permissive MIT license, no hidden fees), multi-platform 2D and 3D game engine and IDE, extremely feature-rich with a vast set of tools, enabling the developer to create his multi-platform game from scratch without requiring any external tools other than the usual content creation tools (graphics and sound; it includes a tile map editor), and to concentrate on his game without having to reinvent the wheel. It also features an intuitive scripting language (GDScript, inspired by Python and other languages) and can be used with most programming languages.

Yet I'm having a hard time finding a blog post where someone explain their experience going from bare minimum to a fairly advanced package with multiple stuff going pre and post install.

By _good_ I also mean something that helps understanding the why some packager use /etc/default/xyz and /etc/xyz/ yet some never use /etc/default .

Any pointers ?

📚️ SDL Sopwith is a modern, libre and multi-platform, single-player / multi-player port of a small 2D side-scrolling dogfighting game released in 1984, in which the player pilots a World War I Sopwith (British manufacturer) biplane, bombing enemy buildings while avoiding opponents' planes and obstacles in a reduced world (radar at the bottom of the screen). It steers by looping up or down, and is armed with a machine gun and bombs. A life is lost if the biplane is shot down, runs out of fuel (refueling at the base), crashes, is hit by debris or birds. Addictive!

📚️ Oddworld series is a series of platform games combining action, puzzles and humor, set on the eponymous planet where different species live together. The most intelligent are the Glukkons - focused on profit and exploitation, and the Mudokons - focused on harmony with their environment and other species. The first 2 opuses (Abe's Exoddus & Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee) follow Abe, a Mudokon, as his species is enslaved by the Glukkons. Discovering that his food factory is going to include Mudokons in its ingredients, he flees and tries to save his people... R.E.L.I.V.E. is an open-source engine, compatible (with the first 2 2D opuses, released in 1997 & 1998), and improved (multi-platform, support for modern hardware, numerous bug fixes, etc.).

📚️ BZFlag is a libre, multi-platform, multiplayer online team-based variant of Battle Zone, an FPS in which players compete in flying tanks and in teams (2-5 teams) in various game modes. Solo play against local AI is supported for training or map testing, however these AIs do not offer a real challenge and are generally not allowed on public servers. The tanks are light and fly, jump over obstacles, are equipped with lasers, guided missiles, super bullets, and most importantly powerful radar, so no one is safe and cannot hide.
