"A #BiaGranja, que entende de #creatoreconomy como ninguém, criou um GPT com as 15 principais palestras sobre creators que rolaram no #SXSW (o maior evento de inovação e criatividade do mundo, que aconteceu em Austin, no Texas, no início do mês). E adivinha? O tema do #banimento de #adolescentes estava lá, com todas as conclusões do impacto que isso poderá ter sobre o futuro dos #negóciosnasredes."

Ever find yourself scrolling through an increasing amount of melancholy posts with videos of people crying and talking about their latest misfortune? Apparently, there's a word for that and it's called "Sadbait." This trend has become a go-to for some online creators, and audiences and algorithms can't get enough.

"The Indian storytelling app gives its audience an unending stream of audio stories about lucky individuals who become rich. It might as well be an allegory for its own #creatoreconomy.
The writers of Pocket FM find themselves in a catch-22: the platform’s algorithm will only promote their novel if it’s already popular among listeners.
#PocketFM isn’t the first platform with a tyrannical algorithm. Companies like YouTube and TikTok work similarly, too."

I’m revisiting #Deezer to see if it has improved its music streaming service in the last eight months. The first impression was okay but I quickly ran into intermittent playback issues (Error MS0610). One of their media storage servers uses a security certificate that expired over a year ago. I’m pretty sure this is what caused my intermittent playback issues the last time I tried Deezer.

I’m giving them another shot because I believe Spotify is overdue for more competition, and I like the concept of Deezer’s Artist-Centric Payment System (ACPS). (I’m not sure it’s reality or a pipe-dream, though?) With ACPS, you pay the artist you stream instead of pooling everyone’s subscription into a giant slush fund. #CreatorEconomy

@lislegaard yes, it's on purpose. they need to pay $ to shareholders. that's all that matters. high switching costs gives them leverage to turn it to a pile of shit. people won't leave because everyone is there, everyone is uploading to it because everyone is there.

artists should get that "you don't need eyeballs, you need hearts."

I tried Tumblr’s tipping feature to document the experience before it gets removed.

• Low usage: took ~20 minutes to find a creator with it enabled
• On iOS, payment did not use Apple Pay. I had to type my name, postal code, credit card number, expiration, verification code.
• When trying to send a second tip, it remembered my name, currency, postal code, but not my credit card details.
• Prices in USD even tho I set SEK as currency
• Smallest tip option $1.99
