PollinatorsApril 20, 2025. A good gardening day. Tomatoes and basil starts were potted up. We moved back leaf mulch and added compost to the onion rows, then planted Ruby Red onions. The Yellow Parma onions were planted yesterday. The free range earthworm numbers are good. The garden has been a no dig garden for 20 years. Colin PurringtonI splurged on a pair of garden trugs so I can transport compost to my plot at the community garden. I really like how they have handholds *and* rope loops. OrtieY a un truc que j'aimerais bien organiser mais que je sais pas trop comment faire mieux que aujourd'hui, les gens avec qqn animaux (ici âne, poney, poules), vous organisez comment la gestion de votre compost, déchets verts et fumier ? Actuellement j'ai 1 tas de fumier, 2 bac à compost (un pour les poules, un au potager que je mélange aux déchets de tonte), un bac de feuilles mortes pour alléger mon sol et un méga tas de branchages envahis d'orties au fond du terrain. Y a probablement d'autres façons de faire, est-ce qu'une partie du fumier peut être compostée ? JonobieWhen I was younger, I was responsible for the <a href="https://social.coop/tags/compost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#compost</a> bucket—a yellow one whose stench triggered my gag reflex. Strangely, when emptying my own compost buckets today, the smell wasn't nearly as offensive. This could be due to layering sawdust (a layer over every significant deposit) or a diminished sense of smell with age. Either way, I'm not complaining!

MarkGI'm watching TVO right now. There's an interesting film called "This Film is Garbage!". It's about issues surrounding our household waste. Quite interesting.
