human energy technologies, a medley

(1) set living things on fire
(2) feed some living things to other living things and make them pull and lift stuff
(3) put a wheel in the way of moving wind or water
(4) set the remains of distant dead ancestors on fire
(5) put a lot of dangerous rocks together in one place until they get more dangerous and really hot
(6) use the sun to lift and stack heavy things, and then drop them later

Dump of the original Furby's assembly source code, dated June 1998:
Coolest thing I can think of to do with this would be to get it running in a virtual machine in some existing virtual space, eg an MMO, VR chat room, No Man's Sky etc. I love the idea of this thing's freaky digital soul living on in unrecognizably alien worlds.

Things I’d probably use this for:

– formatting for bold/italic/links/lists/etc
– bots
– toot editing

should I…should I run my own mastodon instance

Other things I suspect are important but haven’t really figured out yet:

– double-hitting the L shaped blocks
– planning for multiple trajectories knowing that blocks will disappear
– positioning upon return

Also, that feeling where you make a bank shot go exactly where you want is such an incredible rush.

Ok, Holedown really is as great as everyone says it is. So far, learned to:

– find the screw blocks
– angle balls so they go nearly horizontal
– exploit traps to send balls into
– sometimes ignore higher blocks because they can keep balls in play longer

I think it's really hit a sweet spot between being enough like birdsite to have a clear norms while letting people poke around the edges of what makes birdsite birdsite

It's like having multiverse vision into a million ways things could have played out since 2008

Oh shit I forgot I had ice cream sandwiches in my fridge

I would have to brush mah teeth again though

is there an instance for the digital humanities tho

(although: it didn’t quite work for me on the mastodon end so)
