(Or, “Why every toot is also a potential denial of service attack”)Every time I post something that gets lots of engagement, I essentially end up carrying out a denial of service attack on myself. What does this say about the design of Mastodon and ActivityPub and the future of the fediverse?
@aral great thoughts. Where’s the happy medium for an instance? Maybe if a Mastadon instance was limited to/sharded by those who followed each other, that would create some natural limits as even the most popular accounts follow few people.
