INTRO TO FEDERATION:
1. "mastodon" is a piece of software that runs on a server. There's a lot of servers that run it & u can follow ppl on other servers.
2. When u follow someone from another server, your server receives their toots.
3. The federated TL is all public toots that the server receives, ie all of the toots from everyone that ppl on your server follow.
4. ERGO: if u want to see more toots in the fed TL, follow + get other ppl on your server to follow ppl from other servers!
So where are the cryptocurrency traders in the house? #altcoins
feature suggestion - have my Home panel showing the last share (I'm not calling it a 'toot') I read so I can catch up in chronological order

Do you think the people who started discord, a communication platform, know what the word discord means? Their name is the antithesis of the service they provide. I can't help but think they meant to name it 'Discourse' but had a public school education.
Reminder: "public timeline" refers to any and all toots by people using accounts on your instance/domain
"federated timeline" is all instances not blocked

Was it this hard to take in the public stream and decide who to follow when I started on twitter?
