@{https://diaspodon.fr/users/dada} @{https://mastodon.xyz/users/nextcloud} Wooop, good stuff! 🀘

@nextcloud Neat. I wish this was a thing when I was building networks for SMB's. IIRC nextcloud does have AD or LDAP authentication already doesn't it?

@nextcloud
Pretty cool :D

But: Why Onlyoffice? It does a bad job handling LibreOffice-Documents :(

@johannes
as far as I am aware you can combine Nextcloud with Collabora or OnlyOffice, the big pro of only office is, that the computation happens on the client side, not on the Serverside like Collabora... If you have several documents open on multiple users, the load that Collabora creates is just ridiculous... so if you don't run a very small instance OnlyOffice is way better.

@Fellmoon
Thats a pretty interesting fact. Thanks :)

So can only hope that the handling of LO-Documents will get way better. Because I don't like the fact that only office is using docx as default.
@nextcloud

@johannes @nextcloud i too would like to know if there are any remaining limitations when using LO formats. Most/all people i would implement Nextcloud Hub for are already using LO and i have no interest in users having to jump through extra hoops to use LO formats just b/c OO seemingly caters to MS' products.

@nextcloud

Do collaborators have to be Nextcloud/OnlyOffice users as well to view/edit?

@mellifluousbox @nextcloud i have not used OO, but it appears the collab happens in a web browser and that OO caters to MS formats anyways. so "no", would be my guess.

@nextcloud I didn't get it. What exactly are the differences between Nextcloud Hub, Nextcloud at home and the ZIP that I can download?

@unklebonehead

Ok, so we have
GSuites,
Microsoft 360,
This,
and what else for Cloud Office suite offerings?

@randynose I honestly don't know. But I think Nextcloud would be the only one I would remotely trust.

@nextcloud just to know: why onlyoffice and not libreoffice online?

@nextcloud such amazing additions to nextcloud!

Congrats to the whole team, and thanks for making this available to all of us:)

@nextcloud This looks awesome, are updates to current servers on version 17 seamless?

@nextcloud Was there some change on how to alter settings for admins? I can't set groups or the contingent for the initial admin. I can change settings for a normal user.

@nextcloud to be honest, the new time entry method in calendar 2.0 is counterintuitive
