I just uploaded version 1.5.5 of my #Android app EasyOpenLink to Google Play. The #fdroid build will be available once the F-Droid build system feels like building it. The new version removes support for opening links in private mode in #Firefox due to https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/14499 😕
I just remembered that Joel Spolsky had written an article about how it is a bad idea to rewrite code from scratch and then I looked it up and the negative example he used was #Netscape: https://www.joelonsoftware.com/2000/04/06/things-you-should-never-do-part-i/ 🤣
New #Android versions break sh*t loads of things, bugtracker is unusable. Mozilla releases #Firefox update which breaks not only the UI/UX but also the way incognito tabs are opened via 3rd party applications. This suvks. Glad that I don't do #AndroidDev professionally anymore.
I am currently reading "The Cruise of the Snark" by Jack London. In one chapter he talks about Ernest Darling who seems to have been quite a character and a kind of proto-hippie ahead of his time.

#AndroidDev can be such a pain! The dev documentation says I can set an icon for an activity or an intent-filter, but the share menu will show the app icon in Android 10+ and I have no clue if this is a bug or desired behaviour. 😡

Silly fun with loose eyes.
I just entered the 21st century by installing #PassAndroid via #fdroid. I have to admit that I used to print tickets or store them as PDFs on my mobile device because I did not trust closed source apps for this usecase. #fdroid has become a really useful source for great trustworthy software. #FLOSS
