#Writersblock happens when you’re too intent on getting that one great idea into your head. But to get good plot ideas you need to figure out your outlook, your ideology and point of view on things generally.
Then I need to figure out what kind of mood would I like to aim for with these ideas. Is it funny, hopeful, or examining?
As a writer, I always need to think about what I wish to uproot with my writing: e.g. am I interested in romance, or society, or religion, or whatever thematic bent.
@Corvusheart Hm... that also... but I always think about whether I can give my own spin, or extrapolate on whatever it is that I am reading.
I always consider it like a suggestion, a getaway into a topic, behind which there's much left unwritten and unsaid.
Still, I need to have my aim, some workable perspective, a sort of subjective ideology to then take it as a direction that my brainstorming aims towards.
@mareklach I find writers block to be a sign I need to consume, to read, to experience and to charge up ideas.
