one thing I really love about HK is that customer service/retail workers don't pretend to like you or be happy to see you. in the US it feels like if your a paying customer that's the equivalent of holding a gun to someone's head, it just feels really creepy and awful how compliant they are. I always want to be like, I've had retail jobs most of my life, I know you're not actually happy to see me, I'm sorry you have to pretend to be
@live i actually sincerely enjoy it, and it must come across, because i make 2 to 3x the tips co-workers do. i do have the freedom to tell people to fuck off, which makes being pleasant so much easier.
@lia agreed, I love it here and I could see myself living here for extended periods of time, which is not how I feel about most places even in the states
