"One Day" - Breaking Open The Ego

One day, you will laugh.
You will laugh at how seriously you took it.
It seemed like a big deal, it seemed so important,
and one day you will see it was a trick of your own mind.
The need to explain yourself,
the caring what they thought,
the opportunities missed,
the regrets,
the beliefs,
the jealousies,
the hindrances and attachments and all the rest
will suddenly evaporate from your serious clutch,
when you see,
it was all just in your mind.

~Adam Oakley

Tourist :"With due respect, may I ask where's your furniture and other household things?"
Monk : "Where is yours?"
Tourist : "Mine? But I'm only a visitor here."
Monk : So am I !!

"Accept that you are responsible for your own thoughts, feelings, words, and actions, and no one else can make you think, feel, say, or do anything. No matter what they say or do, you are still responsible for how you respond to them." ~Timothy James

Think about it this way: when you "get" something that makes you happy, you are happy because you are deciding to be happy. If you remove the middleman of external conditions, you can feel happiness in response to the simplest everyday experiences.

“Everybody has a little bit of the sun and moon in them. Everybody has a little bit of man, woman, and animal in them. Darks and lights in them. Everyone is part of a connected cosmic system. Part earth and sea, wind and fire, with some salt and dust swimming in them. None of us are just black or white, or never wrong and always right. No one. No one exists without polarities. Everybody has good and bad forces working with them, against them, and within them.

~PART SUN AND MOON by Suzy Kassem

Time’s always moving on; nothing can stop it. We can’t change the past, but we can still learn from it. And we can shape the future, creating a more peaceful era, by adopting a realistic approach, recognising that the more compassionate you are, the more you’ll find inner peace.
-- Dalai Lama

“You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens.” ~Mandy Hale

In the age of technology there is constant access to vast amounts of information. The basket overflows; people get overwhelmed; the eye of the storm is not so much what goes on in the world, it is the confusion of how to think, feel, digest, and react to what goes on.
