Update: I traded them for an SNES game.

Say what you will about the Alliance of American Football but both games tonight were way better than the crap fest the NFL had last week for their marquee game.

Need to trade some old Blu-ray’s since I upgraded them to better versions sometime this weekend.

@gdsk3k KC should have been on SSBU instead of Pac-Man

"Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer offered to buy the team, and he and Schultz made a last-ditch try at saving the Sonics. But it was too late. (Ballmer later ended up buying the LA Clippers for a cool $2B.) And last year, after many torturous debates and false starts, the City of Seattle and investors finally agreed to build a slick new $700M arena for an expansion NHL team and, maybe someday, the NBA. Work on it is underway. If Schultz had waited, he would be a hometown hero, and maybe even richer."

"Then a smooth-talking buyer from Oklahoma named Clay Bennett came calling. Schultz seemed to be the only one in town who believed Bennett’s assurances that he and his fellow Sooner partners really did want to keep the Sonics in Seattle. Oklahoma City was meanwhile clamoring for a pro-sports franchise, after getting a taste hosting the post-Katrina New Orleans Hornets. One of Bennett’s partners, the oilman Aubrey McClendon, blurted the obvious: “We didn’t buy the team to keep it in Seattle.”

"Under Schultz, the team lost money, fans and its star player, future Hall of Famer Gary Payton. Schultz feuded with and then traded away Payton, who went on to win a championship with the Miami Heat.

Schultz also botched the politics of team ownership. He made an unsuccessful pass at convincing the city to amend the Sonics arena’s unfavorable lease terms and persuading the city and state to fund a new or expanded arena meeting current NBA standards."

politico.com/magazine/story/20 - If you needed a reason to hate Howard Schultz this Politico article explains why. The stuff about how he mismanaged the Sonics should disqualify him for that alone.
