Riot is an amazing tool for teams. Really suggest everyone to move away from #Slack or other similar proprietary tools.
@xuv @frankiezafe If you REALLY need a 1:1 slack replacement, #Mattermost is worth a look. Also worth remembering that there are other #Matrix clients that are not #Riot.
@Rtzq0 @frankiezafe I've only been using Mattermost since very recently, but I find Riot to be a much more fun experience. (Maybe less polished than Mattermost, but more fun). Does Mattermost have e2e encryption?
@xuv @frankiezafe It can't, and shouldn't. The point of Mattermost is to be a 1:1 API compatible slack clone. I agree that Matrix (again, you'll see me focus on the protocol) is the *superior* choice, but if you "must" stick with Slack, you can still abandon the proprietary SaaS with Mattermost at least.
@Rtzq0 @xuv i was using mattermost at university, and as xuv said, matrix/riot have a better UX (?) - but maybe it's due to the fact that we have good time chatting together and playing with encryption there... :) - one of the thing that makes me confident into matrix is the fact that #sha2017 uses it
@frankiezafe @xuv As I already said, Matrix is w/o doubt the *better* protocol. But so much of getting FLOSS into businesses is entirely political that I am glad that we have many "comfortable" options like Mattermost.
