#Spanner #AmEditing update: Sure enough, my muse came through. I woke up from my nap with a flashback scene built around Severina's line "Oh, how I long to make you my slave." She's intensely *high* from the effect Factor-positive blood has on vampires when they drink it. Sia herself is far from pleased -- she's both terrified and enraged -- and she's determined to escape. At this point Severina's still sacrificing Jihadis ("evil men of Allah") to Satan for Boris.
"'Oh, how I long to make you my slave,' Severina said in a delirious rapture to the young Factor-positive she'd stripped nude and tied up on the hotel room bed. Sia gasped with terror at the sound of the word 'slave' and redoubled her futile effort to escape her bonds."
The scene came to me virtually whole. Pepé Le Pew and the cat as vampire erotica, remember. Maybe even a PTSD flashback. Of course I spent too much time lovingly editing it. Flashback now finished.
I look at Spanner In The Works chapter 36 as a whole and realize I'm going to have to cut a lot of material. I'll surely move some of it to Chapter 37. But I'll probably go back to edit Chapter 23 first. Meanwhile I've decided to resist the temptation to add yet another chapter.
Unfortunately I feel the need for another nap...
