"Just because there is now a multi-billion-dollar industry based on the abject betrayal of our privacy doesn’t mean the sociopaths who built it have any right whatsoever to continue getting away with it"
Great post!

I needed to edit a video which I haven't done in a while and I got to use new the new 20.08.0 #kdenlive version
Now kdenlive has vectroscope, under color mode. I also like the ideas of having different editing modes and optimizing UI for that).
Kdenlive no longer crashes when I use Experimental GPU processing, I think I no longer need to generate proxies.
I finally managed to get darktable to work by removing mesa-opencl-icd package.
I kept getting error message ": CommandLine Error: Option 'polly' registered more than once!
LLVM ERROR: inconsistency in registered CommandLine options"
Discussion is here -- https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=965310#15
For a long time I suspected a bug in nvidia drivers was causing this, but it turned out that the bug in LLVM.
#Kdenlive 20.08 is out with nifty features like Interface Layouts, Multiple Audio Stream support, Cached data management and Zoom bars but one may argue that the highlights of this release are stability and interface improvements.
I’m watching this video on the history of guitar and I realized that for me to learn new things, I need to know how the thing’s history, how it originated, what where the improvements, etc...
Then I’m ready for theory and practice session.
So I picked a guitar I bought 12 years ago and now I try to tune it
Heinlein again
Heinlein was surprisingly racist for someone who opposed racism and surprisingly creepy for someone who respected women’s agency and believed strongly in consent. Medlesohn wants to do the “product of his time” thing but I think it’s more useful to look at him as a prototypical facts-and-logic bro, shaped by his time studying engineering at a naval academy. He works on rules and fucks up because he’s not capable of understanding others’ subjectivity.

When you have 30 projects running concurrently.... you get a tray system as a matter of survival. I work directly from the trays, moving them to/from my workbench. No cleanup needed to swap projects - just swap trays. #leanmanufacturing #engineer

Anyone interesting in cycling and systematic safety should watch this video about the principles behind Vision Zero in the Netherlands. (BTW Which isn't to say that cycling in the Netherlands is without problems).
I didn't hesitate even for a second to take the quiz.

Tour of #Kultaranta, summer residence of Finnish presidents, supposedly like a mini-Versailles in #Naantali

do yall do this? where you just wanna listen to a funny line or see a cool shot you remembered and then you end up watching the whole thing?
Today Mailhog (https://github.com/mailhog/MailHog) bailed me out for the n-teenth time.
This is just a simple project that acts as a mail server and displays all the mail it catches. 'advance' config let you catch and release the mail.
A simple idea but incredibly effective at catching dumb errors line sending out emails from test database to live users. Which I have done.... more than once. #webdev #mail #mailhog
