@anandakatze A counterpoint footnote. I know she is speaking in pain. I grok it. *Intimately*. But its wrong when she says “everyone” in Chinese cultures are abusive. Yes, the problem needs attention, same as everywhere.

And even more problematic when she implies not saying “love” is cold or uncaring. I’ll take Chinese family habit of *showing* love, instead of cheaply gabbing about it every 5 minutes, any day. It’s very wrong to present this as cultural pathology.
