So looks like Minecraft performance is influenced by disk I/O performance
I had weird freezes while playing and as they happened mostly on chat messages I thought it might be because of log writing
So I set up ssd caching for my home partition (my / is on another ssd but my /home is on a hdd) using lvm cache and
No more freezes
So Minecraft client log writing is synchronous ?!?
