Il y a un mauvais usage du mot décentralisé. Dé-centralisé, c'est quand un système fondamentalement centralisé est découpé, et que certaines sous-fonctions sont réparties en périphérie, éloignées du centre.

Un système a-centré, ça n'a pas de centre. C'est pas pareil.

Un système distribué, ou réparti, ça peut être dé-centralisé (le DNS) ou a-centré (Mastodon).

Mastodon est distribué, et a-centré. Pas décentralisé.

On arrive à 1000 instances actives. C'est bon, tout le monde a bien compris que c'est décentralisé maintenant ?

I love to randomly follow people who appear in local and federated timelines! A great way to broaden horizons, without bluebird's bubble-suggestion algorithms! (well Mastodon is a bubble of its own maybe?)

Later, if there is too much traffic or too many messages that i find uninteresting I have an option to unfollow/mute/block/etc.

There is very low risk to be open and curious about others on Mastodon. and it is very rewarding! <3
