The other day, I thought my laptop's hard drive was on the fritz, and started to make plans to replaced it. I had sort of settled on a 2TB hybrid (part spinning rust, part SSD) drive.

Plenty of space, plus a bit of a performance boost, without breaking the bank or completely losing touch with the universe of slow storage (programmers with fast computers write slow code).

Ah. Turns out the drive is fine!

A week later I still want the upgrade...

@HerraBRE I got 1 Tb pcie ssd, and it wasn't ruining. Would not consider spinning drive now (unless price spiked due to supply shortage or sth).

Lately I've been doing a lot of short data science projects. And, oh boy, lots of RAM and fast disk allows you to cut a lot of corners.
