So the weirdest thing to me about D&D Beyond (official digital tools) is how they basically have cosmetics like video games... you can pay $8 to color your digital dice, or $15 for animated dice. Preorder the latest adventure and you get fancy backgrounds for your digital character sheet. To me, that's getting into a lot of money for a digital cosmetic that isn't even related to my character.
