I replaced a washer in an outdoor faucet (hose bib, sillcock, spigot) and feel exceptionally accomplished. I've built a duck coop from my own plans, rebuilt toilets, installed dishwashers, diagnosed and replaced the controller board on my furnace. Why does replacing a washer feel like such an accomplishment? (Maybe because I bought the washers when I moved in 2.5 years ago, fought a hard to shut off valve, a broken screw on the faucet, etc, and finally got it done.)
